Mermaid Plant (Proserpinaca Palustris)

Mermaid plant, also known as Mermaidweed, can be grown submerged or on the edges of ponds where it is shallow enough to grow out of the water. The leaves are the brightest green of any submerged plant, making it an attractive plant for aquariums or the edges of ponds. Primary uses of Mermaid plant are oxygenation, water clarification, and cover for small fish.

Planting Instructions: For aquariums we recommend weighting the plants to the bottom with either aquarium safe stones or decorations. For ponds we recommend planting in small baskets with pea gravel or a clay based soil. While Mermaid plant can be left free floating or weighted to the bottom of a pond, it will grow better and be more cold tolerant if planted.
